Hopefully you have been practicing your ollies, if not than check out how to ollie fast. Today we are covering shuvits. Shuvits is a great trick to learn because they start giving you the feeling off how to catch something in midair, which is necessary for tricks like kick flips. Basically just like ollies, it is essential to learn how to shuvit on a skateboard. Shuvits are when your board do a 180 degree turn right under your feet.

In this tutorial we are covering shuvits and pop shuvits, so as the name implies one incorporates a pop while regular shuvits are just a swift movement of your feet.

Enough talking, lets learn some shuvs!

Shuvit

The optimal foot positioning for shuvits is to place your front just like an ollie so right behind the front bolts and your back foot in the pocket of the back of your board.

Your back foot positioning greatly depends on which type of shuvit your doing. The same applies to pop shuvits. Let me cover what types there are.

Backside

For backside's you place your back foot on the part of your back of your board towards you. So your back foot is on your frontside. When you are doing this trick you push your back foot towards the ground but at the same time behind you. In backside shuvs the board turns towards from you.

Frontside Shuvits

For frontside's you place your back foot on the part of your back of your board away for you. So your back foot is on your backside. When you are doing this trick you push your back foot towards the ground but at the same time behind you just like backside shuvs.. In frontside shuvs the board turns away from you.

 Rundown

So lets review. For backside's you swipe behind you. Frontside's you swipe your foot in front of you. I know it might seem confusing at first but once you understand it other terms for tricks in skateboarding become easier to understand.

Pop Shuvits

Go ahead and read what I have above for shuvs because pop shuvits follow the same concept. The only difference is, is that instead of just swiping your foot your also popping it  at the same time.

Pop Shuvit
So the same concept of shuvs apply here instead your putting in some more force with your back foot.

Shuvits and Pop Shuvits are an awesome beginner trick you can easily learn in a few days and go show off to your friends. Remember to go out and to always PRACTICE! Thanks for reading.
